District 21 was designated this year to receive one of the $30,000 charity grants from the ACBL. Six charities were designated to each receive a grant of $5,000.
The first charity, The Second Harvest Food Bank, received their $5,000 grant in July which allowed them to receive an additional $5,000 from another donor who matched all grants in July.
The following additional five charities were selected for 2012 and received their $5,000 grants in August:
Because of the record number of grant requests in 2012, the remaining charities were selected to receive the regular District 21 charity grants of $1,000 in 2013. Since all 2013 requests are being filled, no charity nominations will be accepted until January 2014.
