The Information Desk will be open, starting November 22 to December 2,
most of the day and into the evening. Staffed by friendly San Francisco
residents, this centrally located desk will be available to answer questions
regarding the area around the playing site, maps, local attractions,
shopping or services, public transportation, special events, daily programs.
selling and playing locations. The Information Desk will also maintain Lost
& Found, provide an updated daily information sheet, and will have ACBL
membership applications."Information Desk" Volunteer requirements:
A centrally located, "catch all" Information Desk: Volunteers are preferably
friendly San Francisco residents familiar with local area, streets,
restaurants, attractions, shopping (nearest grocery, hair dresser, pharmacy,
manicurist) and transportation facilities (written information will be
available re locations of events, entertainment, restrooms, selling
locations, parking, transportation, maps + there is an
Information/Program/Restaurant Guide given in Reg. packet)
Familiarity with daily programs (a poster-size events program with
selling locations will be available);
Maintain a Message Board; assess "emergency" situations;
Accept and help fill in Applications for ACBL Memberships;
Maintain Lost and Found
Possibly hand out volunteer name tags for each day; information re
Volunteer Hospitality Room and hours
Distribute a Daily Information Sheet (alerts re parking, cost of hotel
phone calls, hotel restaurants w/hours, etc.)
Possibly maintain Tour/Events sign-up lists
Volunteers Needed:
Thursday, Nov. 21 (Thanksgiving): 2 Vols, 4 to 9 p.m.
Friday, Nov. 22-Saturday, Dec. 1: 2-3 Vols, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (peak
hours 10 a.m. to game time - 3 Vols)
Sunday, Dec. 2: 1 Vol. 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
